Jesse Clegg with Ross Learmonth

The last afternoon of the season, and two voices on one stage to close it. Both played the 2025 season on separate nights; this time they share the stage. The final session always goes first — partly because it is the last one, and partly because everybody who came in December wants one more before they drive home.

Jesse Clegg with Ross Learmonth

Closing the season

Jesse Clegg spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father, growing up backstage and on tour buses. He learned guitar at fifteen without telling anyone and waited until he was eighteen to play Johnny his own songs. Four releases since — When I Wake Up, Life on Mars with Grammy-winning producer David Bottrill, Things Unseen, and the Entropy EP with Msaki — along with five SAMA nominations, the Isle of Wight Festival, SXSW, Radio City Music Hall for the Mandela 46664 concert, and main support for Imagine Dragons on their 2023 South African stadium tour.

Ross Learmonth co-founded Prime Circle in Johannesburg in 2002 and fronted them for twenty-three years — seven albums, most of them gold or platinum, and more than thirteen top-ten hits including "She Always Gets What She Wants" and "Breathing". He went solo in January 2024 and released Carousel: rawer, quieter, built on acoustic guitar and piano.

Both played the 2025 season on separate nights — Clegg on the 28th, Learmonth on the 30th with Dreaming Out Loud. In 2026 they share one stage to close the summer, finishing while there is still light in the sky. The last session always goes first.

How theafternoon runs.

  1. 15:00

    Gates open

Arrive. Find your spot on the lawn. Something to eat, something cold, no hurry.

  2. 17:00

    Opening act

Two hours in, the afternoon finds its rhythm. Shadows get longer. So do the conversations.

  3. 18:00

    Main act

The sun drops. The music rises. This is the hour people come back for.

  4. Before dark

    Home

The last song lands while there is still light in the sky. Drive home in it.

Before you come

  • Gates open at 15:00 and the first act plays at 17:00. Those two hours are not dead time — they are the part people forget to plan for and then remember afterwards. Arrive early, eat something, pick your spot.
