Jeremy Loops

Biography

Jeremy Hewitt grew up surfing in Kommetjie and did not pick up a guitar until he was twenty-one, as a way of surviving a finance degree. He finished the degree, spent two years working on yachts in the Mediterranean, came home and started busking at Cape Town markets. Within two years the one-man-band loop sets — guitar, ukulele, harmonica, beatboxing and voice, stacked live through a pedal — had made him a headliner.

Four albums since: Trading Change, Critical as Water, Heard You Got Love with over 300 million streams, and Feathers and Stone in 2025. Stages shared with Twenty One Pilots, Milky Chance and Rebelution; collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Ladysmith Black Mambazo; an MTV Africa Music Award; and in 2025, the acoustic stage at Glastonbury.

He played 23 December 2025 and comes back to the same date. Of everyone on this bill, his records already sound the most like an afternoon exactly like this one.
