Dreaming Out Loud

A festival that came looking for South Africa.

Neon Dreams, who host the Dreaming Out Loud showcase

Biography

Dreaming Out Loud is not a band — it is a travelling, all-ages summer showcase built by the Canadian alt-pop duo Neon Dreams, Frank Kadillac and Adrian Morris, after their music went viral here and they decided to come and see why. It now runs as an annual series across coastal and inland South Africa, with a rotating cast of local guests: Majozi, Ben Rodrigues, Ross Learmonth, Matthew Mole, Booshle G. Their records come out through their own Dreaming Out Loud Records.

The showcase closed the 2025 Stanford Hills season on 30 December. In 2026 it moves to the first Friday of the holidays and brings Booshle G with it — three acts across one afternoon, the longest run of music of the summer, finishing as the light goes.
